The 2023 season has come to an end for the Atlanta Falcons, and several other teams around the league. As we inch closer to this year’s Super Bowl, awards and honors begin to be announced and handed out. We already received news of the 2024 Pro Bowl teams, and today the All-Pro teams selected by the Associated Press were announced.
Two Falcons players were able to take home honors this year, and those two are safety Jessie Bates III and right guard Chris Lindstrom. Both Bates and Lindstrom were selected Second Team All-Pro, and lost out to Kyle Hamilton, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Zack Martin at their respective positions, each o who took home First Team All-Pro honors.
Jessie Bates III
In my opinion, there wasn’t a better offseason signing in the league than Jessie Bates III coming to Atlanta. Bates spent five seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before signing a four-year, $64.02 million deal with the Falcons in 2023. Bates had a tremendous first season with the Falcons, as he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week twice, finished third in interceptions overall, and second in total tackles by a defensive back. Bates also received Second Team All-Pro honors in 2020 with the Bengals.
Additionally, Bates received a First Team All-Pro selection by Pro Football Focus.
A stalwart for the Falcons, Chris Lindstrom continues to show that he's one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL today. Lindstrom’s league-wide accomplishments seem to be snubbed at times due to the uniform he wears, but nevertheless, Lindstrom is making it known that he’s the best right guard in the league. This marks the second-straight season that Lindstrom has been a Second Team All-Pro selection.
Also like Bates, Lindstrom was correctly selected to the First Team All-Pro by PFF.
