Falcons open as 2-point underdogs at home against the Colts

The Falcons are in a tailspin, and Vegas has certainly noticed.

After a disastrous showing in a 9-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Atlanta Falcons now head home to face off against the Indianapolis Colts. The Falcons will enter that one as two-point underdogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

The over/under currently sits at 44.5 points.

Atlanta’s offense has been dreadful for the bulk of the season, but it was never more anemic than it was on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Charlotte. The Falcons mustered a mere 204 yards of total offense and turned the ball over twice, with quarterback Desmond Ridder’s inexplicable interception in the fourth quarter proving the dagger in Atlanta’s hopes for a win.

The Falcons now find their playoff hopes essentially vaporized, and prepare to host a Colts team fresh off of a win against the Steelers. Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew was effective in that win, completing 18 of 28 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns.

With Atlanta’s season on the brink they collapsed in Carolina. They now find themselves on the outside looking in at the NFC playoff picture and home underdogs against Indianapolis on Sunday.
