The New Orleans Saints are coming to town, and it’s the sacred task of the Atlanta Falcons to ensure they don’t leave the city with smiles on their faces. With the bye over for both teams, it’s time to get down to the business of duking it out for the NFC South lead.
For the Saints, this is a chance to put things back on track after they were embarrassed by the Vikings in Week 10. Before that, the Saints had put together arguably their best stretch of the season, knocking off cupcake opponents in the Colts and Bears by a combined score of 62-44. Atlanta, meanwhile, is trying to stop a three game skid and remain perfect in the NFC South this year, and a win over New Orleans would put them at 5-6, first in the division, and with that sterling 3-0 NFC South record we’d all love to see.
A win keeps this season on track; a loss well and truly derails it. With a bye week to prepare and rest up, the Falcons have to come out swinging against their biggest rival, both for my sanity and for their meager chances of keeping their divisional dreams alive. As always with these two teams, it’ll likely be a close, frustrating matchup, regardless of the outcome.
We’ll round up all our coverage for the week right here in this StoryStream, so keep it open!
