The Falcoholic’s 2023 Second Chance Survivor contest starts this week

Are you ready to put your football knowledge to the test? Look no further than the thrilling world of Survivor football pick ‘em leagues! This exciting game format adds a whole new level of intensity and strategy to your football experience.

We have two free Survivor pools this season, sponsored by DraftKings Sportsbook. The first contest is already underway and features a $250 prize to the winner. Best of luck to those who are still alive!

The second contest is a “second-chance” game that starts in Week 5 (aka, right now!) and has a prize of $100 to the winner. If there is a tie, the prize will be split evenly among the winners. You can enter your pick each week in the game at the bottom of the page.

There was a little bit of confusion for some around signing up for the Week 1 Survivor contest, so we’re putting together a few more specifics on registration.

Before we get to that, just a reminder that the second-chance contest is open to anybody who was eliminated from the first contest OR if you never signed up for the first contest. If you are still alive in the first contest, you are NOT eligible for this second-chance contest. If you played the Week 1 contest and were eliminated, your registration still works.

Log in like you did the first time and you’ll be prompted to create a new entry name. If you did not play the game the first time around, you’ll need to create a log-in. The registration for this game is separate from your site log-in or from a DraftKings log-in if you have one. To register for an account to play the game, go down to the game below and click on “Register for an account.” It asks for your first name, email, and a password you create. Your email will NOT be sold or given away. It is strictly so you can get a weekly reminder to make your pick and so you can get a password reset sent to you if you forget your password. After you register, it’ll ask for an entry name. That is not the team you’re picking that week, but rather, what name will show up in the leaderboard for your entry.

So, what exactly is a survivor football pick ‘em league? Well, it’s quite simple. Each week, participants in the league are tasked with choosing one winning team from the upcoming NFL matchups. Sounds easy, right? Here’s the catch: if the team you pick loses or the game finishes in a tie, you’re out of the game. The goal is to be the last person standing, securing your spot as the ultimate survivor and claiming the coveted victory.

The beauty of survivor football pick ‘em leagues lies in their simplicity and unpredictability. Every week, you’re faced with the challenge of selecting a winning team, carefully weighing factors like team performance, injuries, and matchups. As Atlanta Falcons fans, you’ll want to try and take your heart out of the picks you make. You can only pick a team once during the whole contest, so sadly you won’t be able to just pick the Falcons every week, since they’re going undefeated of course, wink wink. But if there’s a terrible team you want to pick against every week, such as the Arizona Cardinals, that’s not a bad strategy to utilize.
