Coach Arthur Smith faces his old team on Sunday, and per DraftKings Sportsbook, the Atlanta Falcons will enter the contest as one-point favorites at Tennessee. The over/under on the game is set at 37 points.
Atlanta’s 16-13 win over Tampa Bay belies a much more effective offensive performance that was undone by quarterback Desmond Ridder’s three red zone fumbles. The Falcons have looked much more promising on offense in the last two weeks, with Ridder appearing much more composed in the pocket and consistently hitting his receivers downfield.
The Falcons have fielded an effective rushing defense in 2023, only surrendering 667 yards on the ground and a lone rushing touchdown. They will need all components of that unit to work in unison to limit Tennessee back Derrick Henry on Sunday. While Henry is not putting up the eye-popping numbers of previous years, he’s still one of the league’s most bruising backs and capable of snapping off a long run through the tackles at any moment.
The Titans were on their bye last week but currently sit at the bottom of the AFC South standings at 2-4. Tennessee is one of the worst scoring offenses in the league, having only scored eight offensive touchdowns through six games.
