CFB standouts Week 1

These were my CFB Standouts for week 1 of the college football season. I'm only highlighting guys that could be available for the 2023 draft.

Jacob Cowing WR Arizona Wildcats - Cowing came into this game having been on the watchlist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award. He didn't disappoint with 8 catches and 152 yards. Cowing is best known for his route running ability and athletic leaping ability.

BJ Ojulari LB LSU - Despite the hilarious ending. Ojulari will only show that he was credited with 5 tackles but, he was everywhere in that game.

Khyree Jackson DB Alabama - Showed very willing to tackle, very willing. Not sure if he sticks it out but, as a senior he might be good depth at corner.

Peter Skoronski T Northwestern - This is from week 0 but, man what a player. QB had all day to throw from his side. He might be a top 5 pick.

Chase Brown RB Illinois - That's two weeks in a row that this guy has gotten over 150 yards. He's fast, physical and with great vision.

John Morgan III DL Pitt - 3 TFL's 2 QB Hurries and a sack. That's pretty good numbers.

Tory Taylor P Iowa - Wanna know how Iowa got two safeties? This guy pinned SD State at the 1, 2, 6, and 12 yard line.

Stetson Bennett QB Georgia - Let's make this clear, Bennett in his last 3 games were against #2 Michigan, #1 Alabama and #11 Oregon. 62-87 for 905 yards. 8 total TD's and no INT's. And for some odd reason, they won't give him a chance at a Heisman because he's doesn't fit the bill. Yes, he benefits from having great players around him but so does Stroud and Young. When Smith-Nigba went out, Stroud struggled. It's time to give Stetson some roses.

Anthony Richardson QB Florida - It's a one-week overreaction. But, Richardson looks like the real deal. He commanded that team to win over a very tough Utah defense. Don't be shocked if he's first QB off the board.

Jalen Carter/WIll Anderson- I won't go big into talking these guys. They feel like a lock in the top 5. Carter had a ho-hum game but was disruptive in all facets. Anderson delivered a highlight reel tackle for a loss but no sacks.

FCS Guys?

North Dakota State scored in every facet but I wouldn't say there was a standout guy.

Lucas Johnson out of Montana was 15-24 with 4 TD's with Mitch Roberts grabbing a couple of them.

Johnny Buchanan from Delaware had like 23 tackles and was dominant all night.

Adam Bock of South Dakota State had 13 against Iowa and they might've upset them if the All America Tight End didn't go down in the first play.

I grabbed this from the Analyst. Three players went over 200 rushing yards: Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Kayvon Britten had 237 and three touchdowns in a 48-42 win over North American; Tennessee State’s Devon Starling 207 against Eastern Washington; and Youngstown State’s Jaleel McLaughlin 203 and three TDs in a 31-14 win over Duquesne

So there you go Week 1 in the books.
