Falcons vs. Giants Week 3 open thread

The Falcons will try to finally get on track in Week 3.

Kickoff has been the bright line between a morning of some small hope and the brutal arrival of Falcons football this year, with the team falling behind in the first quarter pretty swiftly in both games thus far. Hopefully, that changes today, because kickoff is looming.

The Falcons are in New Jersey to face the Giants, a fellow 0-2 team hoping to get back on track. New York was also blown off the field in Week 1, but they were much closer to pulling off a victory last week against a division rival, with a few sloppy mistakes turning the outcome. There’s little reason to think the Giants are a great football team, but they have looked more capable overall than Atlanta thus far, and the Falcons will need to play their first complete game this season to win.

I’m hopeful they’ll do so, because we haven’t seen a win in a long while and we need a sign that this team can at least be competitive enough to make this season somewhat enjoyable, to say nothing of the difference it would make in terms of hanging around in the NFC South. I’ll be looking for fewer mistakes by Arthur Smith and this team, a much crisper passing offense, and hopefully enough pressure to rattle Daniel Jones and force a couple of big mistakes.

Go Falcons! This is your open thread for the afternoon.
