If you’re in the habit of getting attached to players on the Falcons practice squad, my advice would be simple: Don’t.
Just days after the Falcons added guard Danny Isidora to the practice squad, he’s being released again. In his place is a familiar face in the form of Elliott Fry, the kicker the Falcons released a couple of days ago to...make way for Danny Isidora. Fry’s going to win this year’s John Wetzel Award for yo-yoing on and off the practice squad and perhaps even roster.
We have re-signed Elliott Fry to the practice squad and released Danny Isidora from the practice squad.

Isidora’s departure leaves the Falcons still holding on to recently-signed guard Bryan Witzmann and defensive tackle Mike Pennel, both of whom might be flexed to the active roster this weekend with the team’s ongoing depth issues along both lines. Isidora may be back at some point—you never really know, as we’re seeing with Fry—but we’ll wish him well in the meantime at the very least.
Fry, meanwhile, will serve as the team’s emergency kicker and punter until the next time the Falcons need a practice squad spot, and then presumably after that when they re-sign him again.
