The first Falcons gameday of the 2021 NFL season is here! Atlanta will be taking on Philadelphia in a matchup of two teams that struggled mightily in 2020. Both will be looking to start their season off on the right foot, and the Falcons will be looking to break a 3-game losing streak in season-openers stretching all the way back to 2018.
Now that we’re less than 90 minutes from kickoff, we’ve got the inactive lists for both teams ready. Both teams have a few players worth mentioning.

The Falcons have made UDFA QB Feleipe Franks inactive, which means Josh Rosen is the primary backup behind Matt Ryan. This isn’t terribly surprising considering the lackluster performance of Franks in the preseason and the experience of Rosen, but it’s worth mentioning. Also notable are three rookies on the inactive list: CB Darren Hall, WR Frank Darby, and DT Ta’Quon Graham.
Finally, recently-added RB Wayne Gallman is also a surprise inactive. Without Gallman, Atlanta has just two active RBs in Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Here are the inactives for the Eagles:

There are a couple of notable ones here. First off, starting safety Rodney McLeod is inactive—meaning either K’Von Wallace or Marcus Epps will be starting in his place. Another notable loss is rookie OL Landon Dickerson, a favorite of many Falcons fans during the draft process. The second-round pick was expected to play at least a primary depth role for the Eagles, but will miss this game. With QB Gardner Minshew inactive, it looks like Joe Flacco will be the primary backup behind Jalen Hurts.
Any thoughts on these inactives as we approach game time, Falcons fans?
