The Falcons are currently wrapping up the last of their open training camp practices. We’ve recently received some positive news on several players like Dante Fowler and Tyeler Davison, both of whom have returned over the past few days. However, the team has recently begun to suffer more permanent losses, with tight end Jaeden Graham and punter Sterling Hofrichter hitting IR in the last week.
Unfortunately, the team has now had to make another roster move for an injured player: WR Jeff Badet was waived/injured by Atlanta on Friday.
The Falcons have waived/injured WR Jeff Badet.

Badet is a speedy receiver—he ran an official 4.34s 40-yard dash, but reportedly was timed in the high 4.2s—who was expected to factor in to the punt return battle and compete for a depth spot. It was always going to be an uphill battle, as the Falcons appear to have a loaded depth chart at WR and punt returner, but you hate to see it end like this.
Badet apparently suffered the injury early in training camp, and it seems the team was willing to give him some time to see if he could recover. The waived/injured designation means that if Badet clears waivers—which he almost certainly will—he will then revert to Atlanta’s injured reserve. That could give him a chance to stick with the team through the 2021 season and possibly give him another chance to compete in 2022.
Best wishes to Badet for a speedy recovery.
