Your Hall of Fame game open thread for Cowboys-Steelers

It’s football, or at least football-like content, at long last.

Tonight is the return of football, sort of. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys will play in the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton in about an hour, and while the quality of the game is usually atrocious, it’s the first game on the schedule for preseason and a signal that we are getting oh, oh so close to the regular season.

This is a big year for both teams, so while the game itself won’t be particularly interesting, getting familiar with these rosters is probably worth your time. That’s especially true of the Cowboys, who should be better this year, boast former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn as their new defensive coordinator and multiple former Falcons on the defense, and have a matchup against Atlanta in November this year.

Here’s the details on tonight’s game, if you need them.

Cowboys vs. Steelers Hall of Fame game

When: Thursday, August 5, 8 p.m. EST

Where: Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, Canton, Ohio

Channel: FOX

What to watch: What Quinn’s Cowboys defense looks like, even as a very rough draft, and how Keanu Neal and Damontae Kazee look playing in it. More broadly, what the Cowboys roster looks like in game action a few months before they play the Falcons.

Use this as your open thread if you’re watching, and enjoy actual football!
