Last week, we told you why you should watch the first episode of the new Secret Base series, ‘The History of the Atlanta Falcons.’ Ep. came out on Saturday, and Ep. 3 is being released on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
Here at The Falcoholic, we love the series and highly recommend it. But don’t just take our word for it.
The New York Times says, “One need not be a football fan to enjoy this, but you do need to love love — beyond the charts and number crunching is a potent, openhearted gleefulness and sense of play.”
Michael Cunningham at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says, “The episode mines humor from how bad the Falcons were back then, but it doesn’t mock them. It sympathizes with the pain of Falcons fans who saw 28-3 on the scoreboard and thought their loyalty to the star-struck franchise would finally pay off with the biggest prize. For those fans, “The History of the Atlanta Falcons” may be therapeutic if it doesn’t make them question their allegiance.”
If you’re a little wary after checking out Ep. 1 and immediately being bombarded with memories of Super Bowl LI, no worries. Ep. 2 gives us a reprieve from reliving that hellscape of a game. And you get to enjoy some legitimately good times in Falcons history — the team’s first playoff appearance and win, Steve Bartkowski, the Gritz Blitz defense, and several wins over the New Orleans Saints during a particularly miserable time in that garbage team’s history. Who doesn’t love that?

And keep an eye out this afternoon for Ep. 3. We’ll add it in here when it’s live.
