The 2021 NFL season is quickly approaching, which also means it’s time for EA Sports to release their Madden 22 official player ratings, as they do every year. The ratings are typically a hot topic for arguments, as everyone has differing opinions on how high or low player ratings should be.
That’s particularly true for Falcons fans, who often feel like the team’s best players are slighted and only too happy to let EA know about it. This year was no exception, with fans lamenting Grady Jarrett not being in the top 10 among defensive tackles in particular.
Let’s take a look at some of the team’s top-rated players below.

Naturally, wide receiver Calvin Ridley is the top rated Atlanta Falcons’ player to kick off the season. Ratings are adjusted throughout the season as players improve or struggle, so his rating can easily rise as the weeks progress. Ridley will kick off the 2021 season as Madden’s 15th best wide receiver. Grady Jarrett, while not among the top 10 at defensive tackle, is tied with Calvin Ridley for the highest rating on the team. Matt Ryan and Deion Jones were top 10 at their respective positions, both showing up at #10.
Another highly rated player and top 10 player at his position for the Falcons is kicker Younghoe Koo, who was selected to the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl. His rating of 81 secures him the 7th best kicker spot, and makes him the 2nd highest rated kicker in the NFC.
Generational talent (we hope) and rookie tight end Kyle Pitts will start the season as the 18th best tight end, according to Madden. Although he has yet to actually play an NFL game, seeing Pitts behind guys like Kyle Rudolph and Jared Cook seems odd. Pitts can easily improve his rating if he’s as good as we think he can be early in the year.
