Greg Knapp is well-known to the Falcons fan base, as he has the rare honor of spending multiple stints with the team. Knapp first came to Atlanta with Jim Mora, Jr., coordinating Mike Vick’s offense from 2004 to 2006. Knapp returned in 2018 after Steve Sarkisian’s first year calling offensive plays, and Knapp stuck around as quarterback coach with Ryan for three seasons. He was let go after the hiring of new head coach Arthur Smith.
Knapp, typically a proponent of the zone-blocking scheme, was quickly scooped up by the New York Jets as the team’s new passing game specialist. Knapp was to work with second-overall selection Zach Wilson to hopefully give the Jets its first decent quarterback in quite some time.
Shockingly, Knapp suffered serious injuries due to a bicycle accident, per Mike Klis.
Thoughts are w/former Broncos QB coach/current Jets pass specialist Greg Knapp. Heard from several players/coaches and confirmed w/agent Jeff Sperbeck that coach Knapp is hospitalized in critical condition w/serious injuries from bicycle accident over weekend in Calif. #9sports

This is terrible news and we most certainly hope the very best for 58-year-old coach. Knapp has coached in the NFL for nearly the last 25 years, including stints with the 49ers, Raiders, Broncos, Seahawks, and Texans.
We will provide any updates on Knapp’s condition moving forward.
