Grady Jarrett cracks PFF’s Top 50
Pro Football Focus has been rolling out its Top 50 players in the league this week, and the Atlanta Falcons’ Grady Jarrett checked in at No. 42. Jarrett has been chronically underrated in the league, and No. 42 seems pretty low on the list for one of the league’s best interior defenders.
Over/Under
We’ve got some clutch #KylePittsContent here. The Atlanta Falcons are counting on Pitts to prove a difference-maker on offense — especially in the wake of the Julio Jones trade. To say the Falcons will be leaning on him during his rookie campaign would be an understatement.
So if you’re the gambling type: Does rookie tight end Kyle Pitts eclipse 918 yards receiving in his first NFL season?
Who wore it best?
Some solid offseason content from our Will McFadden, who has set out on a journey to find out the best jersey number in Atlanta sports history.
Red helmets byke?
The NFL issued a memo yesterday that has made our Evan Birchfield extremely happy. The league will allow alternate-color helmets to be worn during games starting next season.
Does that mean a return of Atlanta’s red helmets with their throwbacks? We sure hope so.
17 games and the record books
It will be a 17-game season in 2021 and for the foreseeable future, which means that could impact some single-season records in Atlanta.
Fans in the stands for practice
The Benz is officially open for business for Falcons fans! Earlier this week the Falcons announced that they would be holding a public practice on August 7th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tickets are five bucks and that’s pretty awesome.
Personnel shuffling
Some shuffling of the Falcons’ staff and one notable addition this week, as Atlanta announced it had hired former WR Kevin Cone as its new player affairs coordinator.
