Falcons announce August 7 practice at Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be open to the public

Mark your calendars, gas up your cars, book your flights, and so forth.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the NFL making training camp and summer practices off-limits to fans, which was a huge bummer. This year, with COVID-19 cases in the United States currently (if perhaps only temporarily) trending downward, the league is going to throw open the doors to training camp to the public. The Falcons, as you’d expect, are embracing that.

The team announced today that they’ll be holding a public practice on August 7 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which sounds like a killer opportunity for fans to go see this new-look team and coaching staff in person in the place where they’ll hopefully be beating the Eagles in Week 1.

A few details if you’re already planning to go:

  • Tickets will be $5 each and will go on sale starting July 8th at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster
  • Concessions will be open, as you’d expect
  • There won’t be any autograph opportunities due to NFL COVID-19 protocols

The full training camp schedule will be released at some point this month or in early July, so if this date doesn’t work for you, you’ll likely find plenty that do at Flowery Branch. If you are planning to go to this, though, let your fellow Falcoholics know!
