Now that the NFL draft is over and we begin the long wait for off-season activities to kick into gear, I thought it would be a good time to look back while we wait to see how the Falcons take us forward. For an upcoming series, I’d like to take stock of the best seasons Matt Ryan has had with the Falcons, with Julio Jones on deck. But instead of just writing this out and making those determinations myself, I want to hear from all of you.
I think we’d all agree that the 2016 season is the best he’s had. After all, winning the MVP award is a major career achievement along with being named first-team All-Pro. What about the spots between 2 and 5? Where does his rookie of the year campaign fit in your minds?
Does the losing season of 2018 deserve praise for his nearly identical numbers to 2016? Perhaps it was the 2012 season when he got the team to their first NFC Championship game under his leadership? Does his 2013 season deserve consideration for simply surviving as the team around him crumbled onto the injured reserve list?
Tell us down below. Give us your rankings from 1-5 along with some thoughts on why those are the best seasons he’s had in Atlanta. We’re going to compile the results and release them back here as well as in podcast form, and then we’ll be back to ask you about Julio’s best years.
