Atlanta’s lined up for their first game in London since 2014, a forgettable and frustrating loss to the Lions, and now we know exactly when that will happen. The Falcons will be the “host” for the New York Jets at 9:30 a.m. EST on Sunday, October 20.
The game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has a capacity of nearly 63,000 and was built with an eye on hosting NFL games. Falcons fans in Europe and the UK have to be pumped right now, as this will be their first chance to see Atlanta without crossing the Atlantic in a long while.

No offense to the Jets, who at least appear to be moving in the right direction, but if you had to lose a true home game, this is probably one of the best matchups you could hope for. The Jets will have a rookie quarterback and are coming off a year where they were the second-worst team in the entire NFL, so at least on paper, this is a favorable matchup for the Falcons. They could use that, given that the Falcons are lined up for just 7 true home games in 2021, against 10 road or “home” games.
Atlanta was supposed to play this game last year, but COVID-19 travel restrictions and protocols effectively made it impossible, and the league kiboshed it.
