On Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Falcons had the opportunity to pick up some quality players that could continue to lift the quality of a roster in flux. Atlanta decided to take advantage of other the desire to grab falling players when they traded back with the Broncos and picked up an additional 4th round pick.
For this podcast, we pulled together a big crew to talk about the guys the Falcons took. Editor in Chief Dave Choate joined along with Evan Birchfield, Cory Woodroof and Will McFadden to break down our thoughts on how day 2 went.
Topics discussed:
- Why Richie Grant is an exciting pick and why our own Eric Robinson has been talking him up for months now.
- The potential for Grant to start now or ease into the role in the same way William Moore did years ago
- The surprising but quality pick of Jalen Mayfield in the 3rd round and why he could potentially push to start at left guard early, despite just 15 total college football games played
- Players and positions each of us are keeping an eye on for day 3 of the NFL draft
