With a new wave of players about to join the league in next week’s NFL Draft, the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey took a look back at last year’s picks and how fans feel about the 2020 draft class a year removed.
According to the survey, Falcons fans are unanimous in their support of cornerback A.J. Terrell.
Based in no small part on the results from the first round, a majority of fans gave the team an overall draft grade of B, and that’s with Marlon Davidson’s first year being a quiet one. The team picked up Terrell, Davidson, center Matt Hennessy, linebacker Mykal Walker, safety Jaylinn Hawkins, and punter Sterling Hofrichter last year, and most of those players are lined up to have significant roles in 2021. Despite how awful the 2020 season was for Atlanta, fans have not lost sight of the promise of Thomas Dimitroff’s final draft class.
Zooming out from the Falcons, with the first overall draft pick last year, the Cincinnati Bengals selected quarterback Joe Burrow. Despite an injury, Burrow played well in his rookie year. A year out, more than three-fourths of fans still believe the LSU quarterback should have been the top pick.
