North Dakota State’s QB Trey Lance at No. 4?

The Falcons taking a quarterback at No. 4 has been one of this offseason’s biggest points of conversation and contention, and North Dakota’s Trey Lance has emerged as somewhat of a lightning rod of a pick for the Falcons in the first round. He’s an ultra-talented FCS prospect who will need to learn and refine his game at the NFL level — which would be the likely arrangement with Lance benefiting from some time sitting behind Matt Ryan.

Our Eric Robinson brought Trey Lance to Atlanta in SB Nation’s writer’s mock draft, selecting him at fourth overall. There was some speculation that Lance could potentially be had later on in the first, but with his stock increasing and the litany of Falcons brass headed to North Dakota tomorrow for his second Pro Day
