The Falcons will be adding three compensatory draft picks to their 2021 haul, bringing their total to nine selections. While Atlanta’s picking #4 in the first round and will have an opportunity to grab high-end talent through the first three rounds of the draft, a full six of those 9 picks will come on day three, meaning they’ll have to be savvy about their selections late to add depth with upside.
The selections will officially be two fifth rounders (for Vic Beasley and De’Vondre Campbell) and a sixth rounder (for Wes Schweitzer), giving Terry Fontenot and the front office more picks in a year where they’ll likely need every single one.

In total, Atlanta will have the following selections:
Round 1: #4
Round 2: #35
Round 3: #68
Round 4: #99
Round 5: #132, #180, #183
Round 6: #163, #219
This is good news for a team that needs to rebuild the depth but has limited cap space to work with. At minimum, these 9 picks should give them some flexibility as they look to build out the roster ahead of training camp.
What are your thoughts on the compensatory picks?
