It’s nearly game time, as the Atlanta Falcons are on the road this week to face their biggest rival, the New Orleans Saints. Entering today, we already knew the Falcons would be without receiver Calvin Ridley who is now on the team’s NFI list. But we now have a look at who else the Falcons will be without against the Saints.
Let’s take a look at both teams’ list of inactives for Week 9.
Falcons Inactives
- RB Wayne Gallman
- LG Josh Andrews
- DL John Cominsky
- DL Ta’Quon Graham
- DL Jonathan Bullard
- OLB Jacob Tuioti-Mariner
Saints Inactives
- TE Juwan Johnson
- DE Jalyn Holmes
- DT Malcolm Roach
- DT Montravius Adams
- WR Ty Montgomery
- DE Carl Granderson
No real surprises on the Falcons side of things. It was announced a few days ago that guard Josh Andrews would miss today’s game due to a family matter. Andrews has been backing up rookie Jalen Mayfield since returning from a broken hand injury. Wayne Gallman continues to be inactive, as well, as the Falcons have decided to call up running back Qadree Ollison to the active roster to be the third back.
The Falcons are going to give a larger role to the likes of James Vaughters and Brandon Copeland this week with Jacob Tuioti-Mariner inactive again, while the defensive line will feature a heavy dose of Mike Pennel and practice squad callup Anthony Rush with Cominsky, Graham, and Bullard all inactive.
Looking at the Saints, there’s also no real surprises. Safety Malcolm Jenkins who was listed as questionable for today’s game is active. Ty Montgomery and Carl Granderson were already ruled out on Friday.
