We’re now on to Week 8, as the 3-3 Atlanta Falcons prepare to host the Carolina Panthers, in what will be their second divisional game of the 2021 season. Somehow, the Falcons are in the thick of it when it comes to the playoff hunt, and a win over the Panthers on Sunday would definitely keep the Falcons on the right track.

There were some injuries last week which has caused some wrinkles on the depth chart, especially on defense.

As mentioned above, there were some slight changes, especially on defense. Dante Fowler Jr., who has been a starting outside linebacker for the team, was placed on injured reserve last week, prior to the Miami Dolphins game. With this, rookie Adetokunbo Ogundeji steps into the starting outside linebacker role, with Jacob Tuioti-Mariner serving as his backup. Also on defense, the team released depth corner T.J. Green on Monday, so rookie Darren Hall moves up on the depth chart and may see more playing time this week.

On the offensive side of things, there was really only one change to the depth chart. Kaleb McGary returned from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday, and is back in his role as starting right tackle. Jason Spriggs, who subbed in against the Dolphins, returns to his backup tackle role.

This depth chart isn’t permanent, and there’s likely moves to be made throughout the week. We’ll keep you updated right here, at The Falcoholic.
