The Falcons did their level best to make us all lose our minds yesterday. They ultimately came away with the win, but it was a nail-biter until Younghoe Koo’s kick split the uprights.
We’ve got the recap and
Falcons - Dolphins recap
The Atlanta Falcons, fresh off a bye week, rolled down to Miami, Florida, and put together a solid game to defeat the Dolphins. It was looking like a blowout was in the making, but Miami kept it scary close, with the Falcons needing a last-second field goal from Younghoe Koo to seal the win.
It was a game heavy on anxiety, and also a game where quarterback Matt Ryan tied John Elway for his mark on game-winning drives.
Injuries
A couple of notable injuries in this one. Falcons safety Erik Harris exited the contest with an arm injury. Cornerback A.J. Terrell also left the game briefly with a head injury but returned shortly thereafter.
An update on Ridley
Calvin Ridley had a decent showing on Sunday against Miami. It was his first game back after being excused from the London trip due to “personal reasons.”
There’s more clarity on that now, as Ridley needed a break for mental health reasons.
Good on the Atlanta Falcons, and we hope Ridley got a bit of a rest and recharge.
Dante Fowler lands on IR
Pass rusher Dante Fowler has been enjoying a solid second season as an Atlanta Falcon, but unfortunately, he’s landed on injured reserve with a knee injury. We knew he would miss the game against the Dolphins, but now he’s unavailable for at least another two weeks.
