GM/HC search kicks into full gear
With the conclusion of the Atlanta Falcons 2020 season, the franchise can now turn its focus to the biggest offseason priorities: hiring a new general manager and head coach. While they do have an interview scheduled with Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles next week and they just wrapped up an interview with Packers OC Nathanial Hackett, most of their search appears dialed in on younger, up-and-coming candidates.
Roster review: Quarterbacks
As is tradition, we’re going to use a chunk of the offseason downtime to review the positions on the roster and the outlook next season. This week we looked at the quarterback spot, which for many years has largely set in stone — at least in regard to the player under center.
The 2021 NFL Draft could change that, as the Falcons may choose to select Matt Ryan’s successor, and Arthur Blank has stated that he will not tie the regime’s hands in terms of Atlanta’s quarterback.
Indeed, the outlook is truly murky at the quarterback position for 2021.
Positions to address
Every team enters the offseason with a list of positions to address, and we’ve keyed in on five spots that the Falcons must add playmakers to for the 2021 NFL season.
Mykal Walker receives accolades
Mykal Walker put together an impressive rookie campaign at linebacker for the Falcons, and he’s been rewarded as an addition to PFF’s All-Rookie Team. Walker garnered a 74.0 overall PFF grade in 2020, including a 90.7 grade in coverage.
