The season finale is this Sunday. The Falcons are just playing for jobs and draft positioning at this point, things that matter a great deal but aren’t necessarily compatible. I have to imagine Atlanta would love to send Raheem Morris out of this difficult year as an interim coach with a 5-6 record rather than a 4-7 one, and that they’d both like to push hard for gigs in Atlanta under a new regime and knock off the Tom Brady-led Bucs. For fans and probably the next front office, that top four pick is looking pretty nice, though.
We’ll watch because we love this team no matter how bad or frustrating they are, and once again I’ll hope for a good game. Here’s how you can tune in on Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Week 17
When: Sunday, January 3, 1:00 p.m. EST
Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
Announcers: Chris Myers, Greg Jennings, Jen Hale
Radio: 92.9 The Game
Key Questions: Will the Bucs put on a second half show to win again, or will Atlanta’s defense be up to the task? Will Calvin Ridley end up top ten in every single season mark after this game? Will anyone finish with more than 5 sacks this year?
Prediction: This game features the Falcons sans Alex Mack and possibly down a few other starters, and the Bucs are still playing for playoff seeding. I’m sure the Falcons will put up a good fight yet again, but I think they’ll ultimately lose 28-24.
