Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! It’s good to see you. How are you doing? Did you pull all of your Falcons gear and collector items out of the trash before the weekly pickup? Good. We’re glad. It will get better. We promise.
Our links are pickled in a simple brine containing equal parts vinegar and water. We also add fresh herbs and whole spices.
That Bears loss
Evan Birchfield’s weekly statistics piece is a must-read. So go read it. Are you still trying to make sense of the Bears loss? Then check out this week’s hat tips and head scratchers or Eric Robinson’s 4 takeaways for the Falcons. Last but not least, The Falcoholic himself broke down the snap counts from Sunday’s loss, offering some interesting takes in the process.
Roster moves
The Falcons have been working out kickers in anticipation of Younghoe Koo being sidelined for the foreseeable future. Fun!
The secondary has been a true weakness for the Falcons through the first 3 games. That said, and despite my strong desire to lobby for his firing, Thomas Dimitroff’s signing of Darqueze Dennard’s has paid dividends. He’s met and exceeded expectations. And because this franchise is cursed, he’s now headed for IR. It’s a hamstring injury, and we’re operating under modified IR rules this season, so Dennard could be back after just 3 weeks.
This and that
Our podcast now has a voicemail box, which should result in shenanigans of all sorts. Not subscribed to our podcast? What is wrong with you? Don’t answer that.
Check out our latest roundtable. Our writers tried to predict how much time headed coach Dan Quinn has left. With any luck, the answer is “not long.” Along those lines, Kevin Knight wonders if the Falcons can recover mentally from this 0-3 start.
Got a favorite Falcons-Packers memory? Then share it with us! Because let’s be honest, we’re unlikely to make any good memories on Monday night.
