The Atlanta Falcons need all the help that they can get following another blown lead in back-to-back weeks. The team is 0-3, has injuries across the board, and it seems anytime anyone starts playing well, an injury occurs.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Falcons announced a series of roster moves including that they’ve placed cornerback Darqueze Dennard on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The team has additionally released linebacker Deone Bucannon and cornerback DJ White from the practice squad, and re-signed defensive end Austin Edwards to it.
We have placed CB Darqueze Dennard on IR.

Dennard played a crucial role in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears, even intercepting Nick Foles on a contested catch against Allen Robinson. With a slew of injuries in the secondary, and Dennard playing very well on Sunday, it’s another blow to the 0-3 Falcons who will face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. It sounds like Dennard is a candidate for the short-term injured reserve, and should return after a few games.
The Falcons have also released Bucannon, who provided linebacker depth and White who was signed last week. The team has re-signed Edwards who was released before the Bears game and was originally on the 16-man practice squad.
Hopefully the team will get Kendall Sheffield back, who has been inactive through the first three games, and they’ll likely still need to add someone to the secondary. With A.J. Terrell also out, on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Falcons depth at corner is currently Isaiah Oliver and Blidi Wreh-Wilson. Moves will be made, as the Falcons who have allowed the 2nd most passing yards prepare for the Packers who have the 6th most passing yards this season.
