Falcons vs Bears: Who was the defensive player of the game?

Another disastrous performance limits the candidates.

NFL: Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

If you’re looking at this article and thinking “what the hell,” you are not alone. The Falcons gave up a double digit lead for the second straight game and arguably don’t deserve a second of positive thoughts. If you’re willing to entertain it, though, here are some options to consider.

Darqueze Dennard

The free agent CB has been a good signing for the Falcons in their horrid secondary. While he has had some bad moments this season, he was quite impressive against the Bears, notching several pass breakups and an interception that should have been a turning point in the game. The veteran has been a solid addition to the team.

Grady Jarrett

Jarrett deserves to be recognized as an All-Pro, but being on a bottom 5 defense is holding him back. He’s continually dominated this season and he may legitimately be one of the best interior pass rushers in the league, notching another sack in this game. Let’s hope his injury isn’t too serious and that he can return for the upcoming game in Green Bay.

John Cominsky

The 2nd year player is beginning to show flashes of his potential. He blew up a pass for Trubisky and has generated pressure in key situations in the first few games of the season. He has the potential to become so much more, but if he simply becomes a reliable rotational player in the pass rush, he will be well worth the mid-round investment.

No idea

I have no clue. List your preferred candidate in the comments. Or, your preferred libation to get through this mess.
