Keanu Neal being evaluated for possible hamstring injury

More injuries. Drink.

The injuries continue to pile up for the Atlanta Falcons. A skeleton crew defense may not be even thinner for the second half, as strong safety Keanu Neal has left the game to be evaluated for a hamstring injury.

After the Bears made it a 10-16 scoreline with a Jimmy Graham touchdown, Neal was seen holding his left hamstring. It obviously does not bode well for this Falcons defense should he be unable to to return to the game.

Neal’s recent injury history makes this especially concerning. If he misses any significant time, it will be the third straight season where that was the case. Neal’s contract is up after this season and we’d hope he was healthy and back in Atlanta, so this is not a positive.

With Keanu Neal currently being checked out, Jaylinn Hawkins has replaced Keanu Neal at strong safety. The late round rookie defender will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders as Atlanta looks to maintain their slim lead.

Hopefully this is just precautionary and Keanu will be back out there for the second half. We’ll send along an update once we receive it.
