The Atlanta Falcons are already missing one of the key pieces on their offense with Julio Jones inactive, and now wide receiver Russell Gage is being evaluated for an injury.
After hauling in a quick third down pass from Matt Ryan in the red zone, Gage took what appeared to be a rough shot to the upper body or head area. He was slow to get up, but was able to walk off the field and head into the injury tent to be checked out.
Gage is walking to the locker room with team staff. #Falcons now down 2 of top 3 WRs for at least the time being. https://t.co/th7LSuHgho

Russell Gage also took a nasty shot to the head courtesy of Jamal Adams in Atlanta’s Week 1 game against Seattle.
We’re hoping that Gage is able to return, but it’s clearly not good news that he has headed to the locker room. We’ll keep you posted on his status as we receive updates.
For now, the Falcons will continue to lean heavily on Calvin Ridley in the passing game.
Update: Per ESPN’s Vaughn McClure, Gage has been ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Chicago Bears.
