Calvin Ridley is off to a sizzling start to the 2020 NFL season, and he’s already kept up that torrid pace with the Falcons’ opening possession against the Bears.
On the first play of Atlanta’s first offensive drive, Ridley blasted through the Chicago secondary and hauled in an absolutely beautiful pace from Matt Ryan for a 63-yard gain. He was stopped just short of the goal line, which would have gone for his fifth touchdown in three games.

New Atlanta tight end Hayden Hurst would cap off the drive with a touchdown reception two plays later. Younghoe Koo would miss the extra point attempt, but the Falcons are off to a solid start on offense against the Bears.
With Julio Jones inactive with a hamstring injury, it’s clear that Atlanta is going to lean on the receiving talents of Calvin Ridley. With the first play of their first offensive drive, it’s clear that Ridley is prepared to carry the load in Jones’ absence.
