Falcons vs. Bears odds: Falcons favored at home in Week 3

The Falcons and the Bears are two teams ostensibly headed in opposite directions. While the Bears have gotten off to a 2-0 start, the Falcons are standing on the precipice of a wholesale rebuild of their front office and coaching staff. On paper, this looks like a game the Falcons can and probably will lose. Fun!

It would have come as no surprise to me if the Bears were favored headed into Sunday’s matchup, notwithstanding the fact that they are playing on the road and are coming off a shaky win over the Giants. That’s how bad the Falcons are right now. But as of Wednesday night, DraftKings Sportsbook has them as 3 point favorites. Meanwhile, the over/under is set at 47.5.

I’ll be honest, I’m just surprised the Falcons aren’t underdogs. Their loss against the Cowboys was downright embarrassing, capped off by a now viral special teams debacle. There have been a lot of noteworthy Falcons losses, but this one was epic. There’s just no reason to think that this team has the fortitude or wherewithal to come away with a win on Sunday. That said, the Falcons’ performance over the first 2 weeks of the season hasn’t dissuaded the oddsmakers.

It’s worth noting that the Falcons are currently dealing with substantially more injuries than the Bears. Their Wednesday injury report was a complete train wreck, featuring several important players.
