Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! As the regular season draws near, it’s a good time to look back on the offseason and take note of the state of the team. To be honest, I’m shocked the Falcons managed to put together a relatively successful offseason. I expected they’d get lost in a sea of bike shorts, overpriced pomade, and bad contract decisions. What a happy surprise!
You should let our links rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing them.
Rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson may need a little time to get healthy before he can settle into his eventual role with the team. That’s the cautious approach, and it’s the approach the team is likely to take. Davidson was going to occupy a rotational role early on anyway, there’s just no reason to rush him into heavy game action if he isn’t up for it physically.
Evan Birchfield is simulating the 2020 season on Madden, and Part 1 of his series detailing the effort dropped yesterday. If you don’t follow this series, it will make Evan cry. And the last time Evan cried, we had to buy him several cupcakes to make up for our indiscretions. Seriously though, go check out Part 1. Do it. Now.
The Falcoholic’s latest roster projection is a can’t miss. The “final” roster will be set before we know it, so project the roster while you can!
Cornerback Josh Hawkins was next up in Kevin Knight’s player profile series. Hawkins is likely to make this team with Jordan MIller still serving his suspension and there’s a lot to like about him in terms of experience. In short, there are worse players you could have on the back end of your cornerback depth chart.
Last but not least, David Walker is open to answering some of your questions on the Falcoholic podcast. C’mon, I know you have questions! Unfortunately, we cannot tell you where the buried treasure is hidden. Sorry, not sorry.
Go forth, Falcoholics. Conquer your day.
