The Atlanta Falcons disappointed in Week 1, but the team has turned their sights to a Week 2 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Both sides are dealing with injuries and the Falcons have released their Friday injury report.
It appears that the team will likely be without rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson (knee), corner back Kendall Sheffield (foot) and defensive end Charles Harris (ankle) again, as they also missed last week due to injuries. Davidson is listed as doubtful for Sunday, while Sheffield and Harris have already been ruled out.
Julio Jones was a limited participant all week, but he is good to go this week. Left tackle Jake Matthews popped up on the injury report as he’s dealing with a knee injury sustained from last week’s game. Matthews is trending upward however, after not practicing on Wednesday and being a limited participant on Thursday and Friday. Todd Gurley and James Carpenter got a rest day on Friday.
As mentioned, the Cowboys have some injuries of their own. The team placed tight end Blake Jarwin, offensive tackle Cameron Erving and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch on injured reserve following their Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams. For this weekend, offensive tackle Tyron Smith is listed as questionable with a neck injury but wide receiver Amari Cooper is no longer on the report, and is expected to play despite a bruised foot. The Cowboys did add corner back Anthony Brown to the injury report on Friday with a rib issue, which will be something to monitor this weekend.
The Falcons face the Cowboys on Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m. EST.
