Week 1 down, looking to Week 2. We’re obviously hoping for a better result, but if Sunday’s performance is any indication this could be a stressful game on the road. Previewing Dallas and more in Thursday’s edition of Falcoholinks.

Falcons - Cowboys on the docket

The Falcons head to Dallas for a Week 2 clash with the Cowboys on Sunday, a meeting of two teams that dropped their respective openers and are looking to rebound.

The Cowboys have entered the 2020 season with a brand new head coach after many years under Jason Garrett, so they’re expectedly still finding their feet. The Falcons, on the other hand ... well, they’re off to a rough start with a staff already on the hot seat.

It’s only Week 2, but this suddenly feels like a must-win game. Oddsmakers aren’t bullish on Atlanta’s chances to secure a win in The House That Jerry Built, as they enter this one as 4 point underdogs.

Roddy White nominated for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Some good news! Roddy White is one of the first-time nominees under consideration to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2021 Class.

Favorite Falcons - Cowboys memory

I’m sure we all hold Adrian Clayborn’s six sacks against Dallas in 2017 very near to our hearts, but what is your favorite Falcons - Cowboys memory?

A struggling secondary

The Falcons entered 2020 with a new-look secondary, comprised mainly of young players or rookies. It was an apparent area of concern, and that concern was laid bare for all to see on Sunday.

Russell Wilson had a banner day at the expense of the Falcons secondary, and whether it was opening game day jitters or simply climbing the learning curve, the unit will have to get better for this team to compete.

Yikes

Gambling on the first coach to get fired in the 2020 NFL season? Of course you’re not, you have bills to pay. But if those are all taken care of and you’re ready to burn some disposable income: Dan Quinn is a likely candidate, according to Bovada.
