Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! We’re progressing through our post-Week 1 grief and starting to get excited about this weekend’s match up against the 0-1 Cowboys. Heck, if we manage to pull off a win as underdogs on the road, we might even delude ourselves into thinking this team really could be competitive in 2020. But before we rush into anything or make any hasty decisions, let’s take one last look at the gut wrenching Week 1 loss, shall we?

It’s important to learn from losses, especially early in the season. Lucky for us, Eric Robinson broke down 5 things we can learn from the Week 1 loss. There are definitely some hard lessons this team needs to learn ... fast.
Big fan of NFL power rankings? Well, the Falcons are trending towards the bottom of the barrel after a difficult Week 1 loss. That news should come as a surprise to exactly no one, because there aren’t many reasons to have faith in this team going forward, not with an inept coaching staff still at the helm.
Our post-game roundtable was just as depressing as you’d expect it to be. It’s hard to see the same crippling mediocrity from this team, year after year. But alas, we are Falcons fans. This is the path we have chosen.
Have you had a chance to listen to our post-game podcast yet? No?! What are you doing with your life?! Seriously, go give it a quick listen. I promise there’s a 50 percent chance you won’t regret it, at least not as much as you regret the decisions you made on Spring Break in Panama City Beach in 2004.
Evan Birchfield dove into some of the noteworthy stats from Sunday’s loss. There were some significant milestones, even if starting the year 0-1 is not what we envisioned. Meanwhile, Carter Breazale brought us this week’s hat tips and head scratchers.
The Falcons made some roster moves yesterday, waiving Timon Harris and releasing Josh Hawkins from the practice squad. They also brought back John Wetzel because, why not? And we should expect another corresponding move shortly, if it hasn’t happened already. Lastly the Falcons announced which 4 practice players they are protecting this week.
The Falcoholic was kind enough to break down snap counts for us. There are some intriguing tidbits, if you care to take a quick look.
Go forth, Falcoholics. Make this Wednesday a great one.
