NFL: New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

After our last Falcoholic podcast discussing the NFL season in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of you had questions you wanted answered by the experts we spoke to. Thankfully, both men were able to make themselves available once again to answer those questions and a few others on this latest podcast.

Jeanna Kelley and I joined Dr. Saad Omer and Dr. Zach Binney to answer those questions. Topics discussed include:

  • What statistics should we be more focused on, cases or hospitalizations?
  • Is the high case count in the US a reflection of how much testing we’re doing or is the pandemic really out of control in the US?
  • How likely are NFL players, personnel and fans to be infected in large numbers under the NFL’s current plan?

We’d like to thank both of these fine men for making themselves available again and for lending their expertise to us during this incredibly tenuous season.

Dr. Saad Omer is a vaccinologist, Infection Disease Epidemiologist and the Director of the Yale Institute for Global Health. You can find him on twitter at SaadOmer3.

Dr. Zach Binney is an Epidemiologist out of Emory University and an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Theory and Methods. You can find him on twitter at ZBinney_NFLinj.

As always, you can find the podcast wherever fine podcasts are available or you can listen below:
