Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! The college football landscape is in disarray. Nobody knows if football is a real possibility this fall. Our pets’ heads are falling off. But don’t dismay, because we have links! Our links are finely ground and then sprinkled on top of a variety of dishes.

James Carpenter is the next man up in Kevin Knight’s player profile series. And guess what? There’s a real distinct possibility that he’s “the next man up” at guard at some point this season. Give it a read, because the Falcons may need Carpenter to start sooner rather than later.

It’s now or not in the immediate future

The 2020 Falcons and the 2021 Falcons will look ... different. The Falcons have a living, breathing salary cap problem on the horizon and it will likely require the departure of a good chunk of the current roster. That’s why the Falcons need to compete this year or else. In short, as hard as it is to admit, the so-called “Super Bowl window” that the Falcons are operating within is getting smaller by the minute.

Roster moves on roster moves

The Falcons made a couple of roster moves yesterday, taking Chris Cooper off the reserve/COVID list and waived OT Hunter Atkinson. Cooper’s activation is noteworthy, because he was only on the reserve/COVID list for a total of 3 days, suggesting that he never had the virus and was just being quarantined instead.
