Nearly another workweek behind us in the slog of the offseason. Today we have a conversation with new Falcons addition Matt Hennessy, as well as a look at one of the most impressive seasons by a cornerback in Atlanta Falcons history. Read on for today’s edition of Falcoholinks.

A chat with Matt Hennessy

The Falcons selected Temple offensive lineman Matt Hennessy in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft with eyes to the future. While Hennessy will be in competition for the left guard spot this season, he’s also been tabbed as the potential heir-apparent to Alex Mack at center once Mack’s current deal expires at the end of the year.

Our Evan Birchfield recently caught up with Hennessy and got his thoughts on the draft process and Atlanta’s offseason program so far.

Scott Case’s season of interceptions

The Falcons have several records that are unlikely to ever be broken — Julio Jones’ receiving yards tally comes to mind — but yesterday we focused on an Atlanta corner who put together a season that was both unlikely and incredible.

Case snagged 10 interceptions in 1988, a number that will probably stand in the Atlanta Falcons record books.

Player profile: Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan needs zero introduction. He is the best quarterback to ever start under center in Atlanta, and he’s looking to continue his high level of play in 2020. In our player profile series we look at Ryan’s career production and measurables, and take a crack at what his upcoming season may look like.
