Madden 21 QB ratings revealed; Matt Ryan ranks below Drew Brees and Tom Brady

New, comments

Matt Ryan continues to be disrespected, even in the virtual world.

Well folks, it’s that time of the year again. Although we currently don’t know how the 2020 NFL season will play out in the real world, the current pandemic won’t have an impact in the virtual world, as Madden 21 will be released next month.

EA Sports has slowly been revealing some of their annually, highly-coveted player ratings, starting with the quarterbacks.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, as you can see above, will start the season with an 87 overall rating. In 2019, Ryan totaled 408 completions for 4,466 yards and 26 touchdowns. What probably hurt Ryan’s rating more than anything was his 14 interceptions, which is the most among quarterbacks on the top-10 list.

Ryan didn’t make the top-10 quarterbacks list for throwing power, as Josh Allen reigns above the rest with a 99 throwing power rating. New Orleans Saints Taysom Hill is rated with 90 speed, making him the third fastest quarterback in this year’s game.

Also, a leak on Twitter has wide receiver Julio Jones rated as a 96, with both Michael Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins rated higher at 98. Again, this isn’t official yet, but the leak proves true with the other officially released ratings. Thomas broke an NFL record having 149 receptions in 2019, so I understand why he’s higher, even if I don’t completely agree with it. Hopkins however, had 229 fewer receiving yards with five more catches than Jones, and still rated higher.

Stay tuned throughout the week as more Madden 21 player ratings release, and I’ll be here to share them. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to appear on the cover of Madden 21, and the game is scheduled to released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 28, 2020. The MVP edition of the game, will release on August 25.
