The Falcoholic is looking for a film analyst and a moderator to join our team

If you’re reading this, we’re assuming you love the Falcons and the community we’ve built here at The Falcoholic. We’ve got two opportunities for folks to join our team and help us cover the Falcons this season and beyond.

We’re looking for a film analyst to do detailed breakdowns for the site, and we’re looking for a moderator. Each of these positions is a part-time, remote opportunity compensated with a monthly stipend. Keep reading to find out if one of these roles might be the perfect roles for you.

What do the roles entail?

For the analyst role, we’re looking with someone with experience breaking down film who is passionate about writing detailed pieces translating what they see on film for our readers and making those breakdowns accessible. We’ll be looking for one film breakdown post per week on average.

For the moderator role, we’re looking for someone to help build and grow our community by moderating comments on the site according to our community guidelines, which you can review here. The moderator will collaborate with editors on tough moderation calls and will have help and support from our editors with moderation.

Given the current political climate and the fact that it’s made it impossible for us to always “stick to sports,” we’re looking for someone who has the patience, judgment, and commitment to the health of our community to moderate fairly and consistently. If a moderator wants to also contribute articles to the site, we’ll welcome that, but it will not be a requirement.

What qualifications should you have?

Our best candidates for the film analyst role will:

• Be passionate about the Falcons and will already enjoy reading the site and participating in the Falcoholic community.
• Have experience writing detailed film breakdowns.
• Have the time to commit to writing one film breakdown per week.
• Be able to write clean copy and self-edit effectively.

Our best candidates for the moderation role will:

• Be passionate about the Falcons and consistently read and participate in conversations on The Falcoholic.
• Have read our community guidelines and will have a commitment to upholding them.
