Falcoholinks: All the Falcons news you need for Tuesday, May 19

Fact: Keanu Neal ghost wrote most of the third season of The Office

Happy Tuesday, Falcoholics! Thanks for joining us. Sit, stay a while. We don’t bite.

Our links have an oil-like consistency and a pungent barnyard scent that’ll knock you off your feet. Enjoy!

The regular season schedule broke a few weeks back. And yesterday we got our first look at the preseason schedule. Given the national health crisis, it’s hard to envision a scenario where the Falcons actually play 4 preseason games. But heck, we all have to have goals, right?

Undrafted free agent Austin Edwards is hoping to make the team and help the Falcons win some football games in 2020. Evan Birchfield continued his UDFA series yesterday, highlighting Edwards’ body of work and future potential. His piece if definitely worth a read, if you have a moment.

With Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley sitting atop their wide receiver depth chart, the Falcons are fairly set at wide receiver. But how will they divvy up targets in 2020? The Falcoholic himself tried to answer that question, and I’m telling you, you’re going to like his answer.

Lucky for us, Keanu Neal will be back on the field this fall. But a lot has changed over the last couple of seasons. We’d like Neal to return to form, but will he? It’s anyone’s guess, begging an important question: How will the Falcons parse out their options at safety?

That’s all for today, folks. Keep on keepin’ on.
