Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks, getting to know the various draft picks and undrafted free agents. The composition of the roster is coming into focus and there’s reason for cautious optimism. Huzzah!

Who is the TE3 in 2020?
I took a closer look at the state of the tight end depth chart. In short, there’s plenty of talent, and Jaeden Graham is a safe bet as the TE2. There are a couple of guys who will make strong cases for TE3, and the Falcons may even keep 4 tight ends on the roster.
Todd Gurley’s reduced effectiveness
The offseason addition of Todd Gurley is exciting on its face, but there are real questions about how much he can contribute, given his injury history and reduced production in 2019. The Falcoholic himself broke down a video that demonstrates what may have limited Todd Gurley’s effectiveness in 2019. The Falcons don’t need Gurley to carry the same load he carried earlier in his career. They just need him to play better than he did in 2019. And taking a deeper look at what went wrong with the Rams’ rushing attack last season, that’s not an unreasonable request.
Not so fast, Younghoe
Younghoe Koo did enough last season to cement a future in Atlanta. But the Falcons aren’t going to just hand him the job in 2020. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed yesterday that the Falcons still intend to bring in some competition for Koo before training camp. They can’t work out other kickers at the moment, but I’d imagine they have a short list already written up. This still Koo’s job to lose. He’s just going to have to earn it.
We miss you, Mort
Part 2 of Kevin Knight’s interview with the legendary Morten Anderson dropped yesterday. They covered a wide range of topics. And Mort didn’t hold back, delivering some cold hard truths about everything from AJ Terrell getting abused by LSU to his lukewarm feelings about the new uniforms.
