The Falcons unveiled their new uniforms earlier today, and the fan debate about their quality is raging. If there’s anything approaching a consensus, it seems to be that it’s a good group, but the numbers and ATL on the front aren’t anyone’s favorites. There’s also been some significant disappointment expressed in the lack of red helmets, something a lot of fans had asked for.
The good news is that the lack of a red helmet might not persist forever. On Twitter today, Brett Jewkes, the senior vice president and chief communications officer for AMB Group, suggested strongly that a red helmet could be in the offing if the NFL scraps its one helmet shell rule, which has been in effect since 2013.
Trust me, we want that red helmet too. Can all but promise that if that rule changes ... you ... will ... see ... a red helmet alternate for sure.

We’re still waiting to hear what the NFL will do there, and it’s not likely to take effect until 2021 either way. Still, adding a red helmet to the group would make a difference for the ‘66 throwbacks and potentially other combinations, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Which combinations would you pair a red helmet with?
