Poll: What grade would you give the Falcons for their 2020 NFL Draft class?

Atlanta resisted the urge to make splashy trades and wound up with a classes that addresses several key needs. Was it a good one?

The Falcons usually are good for some draft day intrigue, but this year most of that intrigue happened in the media before the picks were made, where the Falcons were rumored to be in on every permutation of a first round trade you could possibly imagine. When the dust settled, Atlanta stuck to their draft slots and wound up filling needs methodically.

We’re going to spend a lot of time talking about that class and how it changes the roster—there will not be much else to talk about for a while!—but at the moment I’m curious as to your first impressions of this class as a whole. Did the Falcons do enough with their picks to greatly improve the defense in particular, while balancing future needs with today’s contention? Or did they whiff and pick a bunch of guys who don’t move the needle?

Here’s the class, to jog your memory:

  • CB A.J. Terrell, Clemson
  • DL Marlon Davison, Auburn
  • C/G Matt Hennessy, Temple
  • LB Mykal Walker, Fresno State
  • S Jaylinn Hawkins, California
  • P Sterling Hofrichter, Syracuse

Take our poll and we’ll be incorporating the early results into tomorrow’s NFL Draft grades writeup. Hope you enjoyed the last three days, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow and throughout the week as the Falcons add their incoming crop of undrafted free agents.
