Todd Gurley to wear #21 for the Falcons

We now know what jersey number he will wear in Atlanta

This offseason, the Atlanta Falcons made a splash by signing 3x Pro Bowler and 2x First Team All Pro running back Todd Gurley following his release by the Los Angeles Rams. Gurley, who played collegiality for the University of Georgia, is returning home and has been very vocal about his desire to do so.

With the Falcons recently unveiling their new uniforms, many (including Gurley) have speculated about what jersey number he would wear. He wore No. 3 in college, but that isn’t allowed per NFL rules. With the Rams Gurley wore 30, which is currently taken by running back Qadree Ollison.

“I’m thinking about changing it up,” Gurley told Chris Long on the Green Light podcast. “I know 21. I can go down there like Prime Time (Deion Sanders). Like 21 maybe, 23.. I might switch it up. I’m not a 25 type of dude.”

Well, Gurley has decided that he will officially wear No. 21 for the Falcons in 2020.

The No. 21 has been a iconic, statement number in franchise history. It’s belonged to Falcons’ greats such as DeAngelo Hall, Eric Metcalf, Desmond Trufant and of course Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Fans will be able to order their Falcons’ Todd Gurley jersey when the new jerseys go on sale April 14th on shop. AtlantaFalcons.com as well as in both the Atlanta Falcons team shop at Atlantic Station and the team store at Mercedes-Benz Stadium upon re-opening (date to be determined), and we will be looking to make them available through The Falcoholic shop as well. Due to the current pandemic, jersey shipments may be slightly delayed.
