Hooper’s future

With Austin Hooper’s next contract expected to reset the market for tight ends, it’s extremely likely that he’s playing elsewhere next season. Losing a top flight player in his prime hurts more than enough, but NFL Network’s Mike Silver is pouring salt in that coming wound with his report that Hooper was ready to stay with Atlanta — but the offer never came.

A decision on Desmond

Desmond Trufant is one of the Atlanta Falcons’ pricier veterans, and with three years remaining on his contract with a base salary just a bit over $15 million a season, the Falcons have to decide if he’s worth that figure annually.
