What is your favorite Falcons - Chargers memory?

Atlanta’s running away with the all-time series, so there are worthy candidates here.

Byron Haspard #24...

The Falcons have not had outsized success against many NFL teams, as you’re well aware. They’re facing one of those unlucky few this Sunday, however, because they lead the all-time series against the Chargers 8-2.

That means there are some fun games in this history to draw on for today’s trip down memory lane, but most of them have been remarkably close. The Falcons have beaten the Chargers 28-26, 13-10, 10-9, and 21-20 over the years, so you at least get some compelling football.

For me, the most enjoyable memory dates back to 2012, one of the few times the Falcons actually stomped the Chargers. That day, Matt Ryan went 30/40 for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns while Michael Turner turned in a tidy 14 carry, 80 yard, 1 touchdown performance against his former team, keying a 20 point first half outburst. The Falcons defense also smothered San Diego, picking off Phillip Rivers twice and holding him under 200 yards passing on the day. Atlanta would win 27-3 and move to 3-0, presaging the excellent season ahead, and it remains a fun game to look back on.

What’s your favorite memory between these two teams?
